Central State ist ein US-amerikanisches Basketballteam aus Wilberforce im Bundesstaat Ohio. Es wurde 1887 gegründet und ist Mitglied der Division II der NCAA. Die Heimspiele des Teams werden im Beautification Park ausgetragen.

Central State ist eine der erfolgreichsten Basketballmannschaften der Division II. Das Team hat insgesamt 15 Mal die NCAA-Meisterschaft gewonnen, zuletzt im Jahr 2007. Außerdem hat Central State 17 Mal das Final Four erreicht.

Die größten Erfolge des Teams sind der Gewinn der NCAA-Meisterschaft 1948 und 1951. In diesen beiden Jahren wurde Central State von dem legendären Trainer Charles „Chuck“ Taylor trainiert, der später als Gründer der Schuhmarke Converse bekannt wurde.

Central State ist auch bekannt für seine starke Defense. Das Team hat in den letzten Jahren mehrmals die wenigsten Punkte in der Division II zugelassen.

Die bekanntesten Spieler von Central State sind Oscar Robertson, der 1960 die NBA-Meisterschaft mit den Cincinnati Royals gewann, und Earl Monroe, der 1971 die NBA-Meisterschaft mit den New York Knicks gewann.
